The nations that are frontrunners in Account-to-Account (AXA) payments operate national payment systems with prominent, easily identifiable brands. Examples such as India’s UPI, Brazil’s Pix, Singapore’s PayNow, and Poland’s Blik, alongside various others, have been implemented, and, with support from central banks and governmental bodies, these markets have seen widespread adoption of AXA payment methods. Even areas with mature card infrastructures, such as Sweden, the Netherlands, and Belgium, have introduced their own AXA alternatives; causing a noticeable shift in market share away from cards. In market penetration terms, regions lacking a dedicated payment scheme tend not to achieve comparable levels of adoption.
